The second WHO Innovation Forum in the Western Pacific Region took forward the vision of the inaugural Forum formulating a vision for the innovation we need to make the Western Pacific the safest and healthiest Region.
The Forum was largely comprised of problem-solving sessions and government innovation showcases. Problems suggested by WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific staff were all real-world challenges to address under the four thematic priorities in the region, ranging from how to find new ways of eliminating cervical cancer and disseminate health policy innovation, how to diffuse and increase uptake of digital health intervention, and build medical registry for vulnerable population,
Speakers invited to problem-solving sessions were winners of the first Innovation Challenge for Public Health organized by WHO in 2021, whose solutions and implementations have demonstrated impact and the potential to be scaled across different social and cultural contexts.
At innovation sharing sessions, speakers from 11 countries in the region showcased the principles, conception, design and implementation process, management and future directionality of innovation initiatives respectively. WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific's innovation repository was also shared.
