SCA (Qld) advocacy has secured a significant increase in resourcing for Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management. After 18 months of persistence and determination from the SCA (Qld) advocacy team, 9 full time equivalent employees will be added to the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management over the next couple of years. A 1/3 increase in resources in a Government agency is a massive win.

Despite a construction slowdown and the rising cost of materials, strata continues to boom. Hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of strata projects are being planned at Maroochydore and other parts of the state. It seems nothing can slow down Queensland strata. Read more here.
The Legal Affairs and Safety Committee of Queensland Parliament is due to hand down its report on the proposed changes to BUGTA this week. We encourage all who may be affected to take a look this Friday. 
Although we are a month into the new financial year, many of you will only pay superannuation to employees quarterly. Strata Community Association (Qld)

SCA (Qld) is the peak industry body for all matters related to the body corporate, strata and community title sector in Queensland. If you are a body corporate manager, lot owner or service provider to a community title scheme, there is value in our membership for you.

We provide thought leadership, career development and education programs, training and professional accreditation for the strata industry. We advocate on behalf of the sector for important changes to legislation and help members comply with existing legislation. We also provide leadership and networking opportunities for new and existing professionals in the strata industry to support our community.
