We are excited to be heading to Tasmania for this year’s Leadership Retreat in just a few days, however shortly after our return to the sunshine state, we will be teeing off for our Annual Golf Day, for a day of fun in the sun.

Annual Golf Day

Join us on the green at Nudgee Golf Club on Friday 26 August 2022 for SCA (Qld) Golf Day. The day is designed for keen golfers, team building with your staff and colleagues, client networking or just having fun with the industry.
The day will begin with registration from 8.00am and a shotgun start at 9.00pm. Play will conclude with the Awards Presentation and BBQ feast from 3:00pm.
The registration fee EXCLUDES equipment. Each player must have their own set of clubs. Sharing of clubs is not permitted. There are limited sets of clubs available for hire from the pro shop.

Following a highly successful Great Debate at this year’s Annual Conference, we are embarking on a new event concept to elevate our Regional Roadshow. Allow us to introduce you to the Mini Debate Series!
SCA (Qld) invites you to an afternoon of great conversation and networking, where you will hear the latest on strata issues and advocacy, followed by an opportunity to watch two of our industries finest go head-to-head in our mini debate (debate topics differ for each event). It’s sure to be fierce, fiery but ultimately a friendly forum.
So come along and make sure you don’t miss this new event.

Our advocacy update will focus in on The Northern Australia Reinsurance Pool with SCA (Qld) continuing to push the government on issues of tax reform, mitigation funding and ensuring the pool is reviewed and modified to suit the needs of consumers. We will also address how insurance is still a major issue for the strata sector, affordability and availability, the supply chain and disclosure and transparency are all hot topics. Recent floods in the South East mean this issue is far from over, rather it is potentially spreading.
Our Mini Debate will see Michael Kleinschmidt and Shane Devenish take a deep dive into the necessity of current legislation- if bodies corporate can’t acquire or cant afford to get full replacement value insurance, should that be a breach of legislation?
