Vili’s unveil their cocktail-inspired donut of the month

Calling all Espresso Martini fans… Café De Vili’s in Blair Athol has created an epic donut of the month featuring a chocolate ganache and coffee and Kahlua cream.

Iconic Adelaide bakery Cafe De Vili’s have released a limited edition Espresso Martini donut, inspired by the popular cocktail and available in store throughout August.

Drawing inspiration from the regular staple of cocktail menus across the world, the announcement of the bakery’s August donut of the month created a real stir on social media, racking over 500 comments from pastry-fans eager to try the new creation.

The medium-sized donut is made with a layer of rich chocolate ganache, topped with a fresh cream, infused with coffee and a dash of Kahlua. Dipped in a sweet coffee truffle the donut is then rolled in some crushed Oreos and home-made crumble for an added bit of crunch. 

Setting customers back $5.50, this epic donut sure to impress chocoholics and coffee-lovers alike is available until the last day of August and is the first Espresso Martini inspired pastry the expert bakers at Vili have created. 

Luckily for younger donut-lovers there is only a small trace of Kahlua within the dessert making the mouth-watering sweet available for pastry fans young and old to try. 

The iconic bakery, which sadly lost founder Vilmos ‘Vili’ Milisits earlier this year, has been creating epic donuts of the month for almost 12 months, with previous creations the Milo donut and Apple Cheesecake donuts making a splash with sweet-toothed customers. 

Another popular offering at Vili’s is the Bee Sting, which has now been made a permanent fixture to the café menu. The sumptuous dessert features layers of cream and custard over a thick section of honey, and caramelised almonds which are painstakingly heated over hours to create the perfect texture.
